Does Anyone Get Frustrated When People Joke About Your Short Term Memory Loss?
Such teasing is beneath contempt. I ignore people like that.
I am lucky. I am 53, I have had 3 brain surgeries, and my memory is the best it has been in my life!

You’re welcome. I’m not sure what the neuro-psychological test is. Before I had a surgery I took the WADA test. They asked me to do all kinds of different things to test different parts of the brain I assume. I actually had a good memory before I had seizures. I could remember things and when I read a story I could tell my mom all about it. However, right when I started having seizures, like a snap of the finger, I no longer could remember anything. I don’t have any problems with my speech though. I hope the test goes well and you get as much information as needed.
George, I joke about my short-term memory loss. I have fun making jokes about it. If you can't laugh at yourself, then you can't laugh at life. That's how I look at it. The reason why I have an epileptic disorder is because I suffered two traumatic brain injuries. I died both times. When I tell people that, they gasp (usually women do that), but then I say that I mut be like a cat and have nine lives. I make a joke out of it. Even my neurologists like it.
It's really not funny. Although some that don't understand think it is.
With some I let it slide. Others that make comments constantly, I sometimes speak up and put them in their place. It does get old and hurtful after a while.
When its a bunch of us that go through it on a daily basis, I think a light joke breaks the ice a little. It makes you realize you're not the only one. We all go through it.
