Does Anyone Else With Focal Seizures, Have Very Brief Seizures While Walking, Where You Have To Catch Yourself From Falling?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
TX

I'm constantly having these weird episodes while I'm active where I have to catch myself from falling. If I'm sitting, everything goes limp and I cant hold my head up. My service dog alerts before they happen. She's so amazing and brilliant. She also alerts for my blood sugar. So idk ...diabetes and epilepsy go hand in hand for me.

When you get that weird feeling try to sit down till it passes as you know it will. My frequent partials may cause this but always fine after. Assure self you are too, know was due to epilepsy small seizure. Ease mind bout any future ones relax let it pass be glad know why plus will be okay to help cope with any futute ones too.

Thank you! Yes it's good to stay positive and reassure yourself. I've been having a hard time with that lately cuz I'm also battling one of the worst and longest bouts of severe depression that I've ever experienced!

I've had several over the years-nearly cutting off a thumb in one and a forefinger in another. My current neurologist, specialty is migraines, calls them 'merely visual disturbances'. I see Epileptologist in a couple months

Yes, I have the same problem with my thirst. Another thing I have to avoid a lot of is caffeine.

I have had those myself and yes it definitely feels strange but it has to be associated with your seizures and medication. I am no doctor but definitely have a talk with your neurologist about it. If you have memory issues then start writing this down for your doctor to make an assessment? Just a thought? I know that I do and have to write everything down to remind myself that I need to do something about it. Good luck 👍🍀
