I’ve been on the keppra for awhile since about 2006 . I haven’t had any issues with that one at all.I was on the tegretol for about 20 years or so. The topamax did a number on me I had one side effect after another

Hi Kassyy, I was on both Keppra and Atavin myself in the past. I've been on many different medications, including experimental medication. Everyone's medical system may react differently than other peoples medical systems to different medications. I myself have always been taking on multiple medications at a time. It's hard to say which is the best. For me as it seems one side effect that almost every medicine has is drowsiness. If one of the side effects are depression it isn't saying you may have time of sorrow. The medical definition of depression is you may have a slight loss of mood or interest in daily activities of things you regularly do. Depression has multiple different levels in psychology. If it was high as a side effect it would not get by the FDA. If you wish to be careful of side effects you can type in your search or Google like this " what is the side effect, of Keppra, or other drug" it will then tell you a descriptive definition of the side effective how long it may be, how strong your system may react, It also tells to how you act if it is extreme action call 911 and more. For me taking the meds seem to do work helping with my seizures for a while then after my medical system adapts and it weakens in strength then I may go on other med depending how much strength it loses. But there is a possibility you may find one that does the same in helping your seizure disorder and your medical system adapts to it and the strength will remain in an extremely better situation. Wish you the best of success!Take care! 💪🏆

I hated Keppra. Horrible side effects. Doing much better on Vimpat (Lacosamide)

That’s more of a question for the Dr. Many Of the AED meds work better for certain types of seizures than others seizures types.
