I Applied In 2023-Was Denied In April. Re Applied With A Lawyer In May. Was Told It Could Be 8 Months Yet. I Have No Income, How Do We Live
It is extremely sad to hear all you are experiencing. It personally took me over 2 years to finally be approved. Denied first, hired attorney who did absolutely no movement forward for over a year, fired existing attorney, hired new attorney who also showed no movement forward which caused me to personally write the Texas Senator (where I currently lived at time of application and denial). I informed the Senator of TONS of details and also wrote 3 different letters to him. Eventually I was approved since he directly took action. I have so much documentation that I indeed will have a book written once I die, to directly show how epileptics in the USA continue to be discriminated AND I mentioned in the Senator letter that I will make sure the book reaches WORLDWIDE. Many Texas Homeless Shelters do NOT accept epileptics to this day. Luckily I found a complete stranger, 88 year old man, to provide a roof over my head while I continuously fought for my rights. Then I immediately moved out of the USA. I pray you do not suffer as I did. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay positive / strong and you will eventually win. Hugs!!
When put on SSI got backup pay and on medi-cal and medi-care.When I married I use my husband’s insurance w/ medi-care.
Philly Surprises me cause if disabled, you can retire with full benefits at 55, as I did. To stay on Medicaid income has to be below $900 a month. A friend with various heart probs told me some even full Medicare doesn't cover lives in MA. First time found my state, R.I., is one of just 6 that pays Medicare for disabled so not deducted from SS monthly payment.
I was working at the time and My Neurologist told Me that She would help Me with getting it done.
All thats needed is a letter from Dr to confirming your seizures are not controlled. First apps are rejected to weed out some as a rule of thumb. Just reapply to get SSDI benefts. As seen here lawyer no help. Told by DHS to reapply + then got benefits. Was surprised to find Medicare cost deducted from too cause my state, RI pays mine or any disabled persons Lucky for me only 5 states do this.
I’m In Houston Tx Looking For A Disability Lawyer Any Suggestions?🤔
Did Any One Qualify For SSDI The First Time? Or Did You Have To Keep Reapplying And Get A Lawyer Etc
Can Anyone Here Tell Me What To Expect When Applying For Disability?
