I'm Kinda Curious, What Do You Think About This Med Term OCD, And Your Thoughts About It?

I've heard it here and looked up online and found out a little bit about it, I'd say that I have a few things that may be in that category, but don't necessarily think it is a bad for me, i guess it is how you look at it from your perspective, so what do you think? Curious

When I worked in a lab I was very OCD about my equipment and microscopes. I had to be to insure accurate results.

I’m getting an updated diagnosis and if nothing changes, I’ll be starting a new med that also acts as a mood stabilizer. I have experienced more depressive moods and greater anxiety this past year. I’ve learned that Epilepsy has its own mood issues which differs from person to person. This is on top of the mental issues we each face on a daily basis.

I am a Nurse and also like things organized- and in there place Type A.
But have been dx with mild OCD as when my anxiety is very high I stay up all night cleaning. I vaccum everyday, wash the floor, dishes are never left in my sink, or laundry in the dryer. I always scan a room to see if anything is out of place or not hanging correctly.
I also check the doors multiple times a night to make sure they are shut and locked.
True OCD is a crippling disease.

We have a disorder focused society. People want to be "afflicted" with something.
When you think of OCD, you have to be careful-- speaking as someone who has some interest in psychology. There is a big difference between Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and having the sort of Type A/ Very Organized personality that seeks to have things "just right."
I believe someone above made note of working in a lab for example and wanting things just right and organized to ensure correct results. This is not OCD. This is doing your job right. An organized housewife who keeps her house clean is not OCD either... but one who vacuums the same spot repeatedly all night long--might be a different situation.
If you are afraid that you are OCD, look to see if you are doing something repeatedly to the point that you can't stop yourself (doesn't really matter what).
It's not what the action is that matters as much that it has become "compulsive."
