Yes, there is some evidence that taking the anti-epileptic drug Epilim (sodium valproate) can cause fertility issues in men. One study found that men taking Epilim had lower sperm counts and poorer sperm motility compared to men not taking the medication. Yes, there is some evidence that taking the anti-epileptic drug Epilim (sodium valproate) can cause fertility issues in men. One study found that men taking Epilim had lower sperm counts and poorer sperm motility compared to men not taking the medication. The good news is that for some men, these fertility effects appear to be reversible after stopping treatment with Epilim. However, it's important to discuss any plans to stop or change medication with your health provider first.
