My zonisamide dose was recently increased and it has caused me to start drooling. I don't have a foul taste in my mouth. Honestly, I look like I have rabies. I hope you are able to find some answers from your test. I have never needed to have any tests but an EEG and a MRI.

It's understandable to feel scared about lowering your Zonisamide dosage given the side effects you've experienced on it. However, your doctor likely recommended this to help manage those side effects. As the search results mentioned, antiseizure medications can cause side effects like mood changes, but finding the right dosage is key. The EEG with ink will help identify where your seizures originate so your treatment can be tailored specifically for you. Having a supportive community can also help - consider connecting with others on MyEpilepsyTeam who have experience with Zonisamide side effects.

ok, i don't take those meds cause everybody is different... therefore the med treatment is different.
as for the ink eeg, do not be afraid of missing the dose. you will be in the hosptial... with 24/7 care. drs/nurese will make you better when something is off or the test is over. just take 1-5 days off work to recover.

Please let us know how this works out and what they find. I’ll be going to Vanderbilt sometime after next February for same thing. They lower or hold meds to cause seizures in order to find out exactly what kind you are having.
