I am because I think nothing has helped me get my seizures under control. I think I have had catamenial seizures. Because my seizures started when I was 17 when I started having my menstrual. My menstrual period was irregular because I had my menstrual period 6 months. Then I was off 6 months. Now since I don't have a menstrual period I think menopause is the reason my hormones are effecting me. I don't get hot flashes or anything dealing with menopause I still think that's the reason my seizures a still happing.

Very interesting. Here’s my story, pull up a chair. Prior to menopause all my seizures were within 2-3 days of starting my period and occurred mid-day. Now that I have hit menopause all of my seizures have occurred at night. I have often wondered if the change in my hormones has had an effect on my seizures. It may be something to bring up at my next doctor’s visit.

Another mentioned a study showing hormone imbalances like estrogen dominance are common in women with epilepsy. Hormonal therapies like birth control, progesterone, and clomiphene can help rebalance hormones, although their impact on seizures is unclear. Lifestyle changes like diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction may also help.
