If the world understood Epilepsy better , there wouldn’t be a large Stigma surrounding it.
Every path and decisions we make in our lives wont be so stressing..
People would have better knowledge and understanding of Epilepsy. We will be taught from K - 12 about Epilepsy in Health classes .There will be less fear of Epilepsy. The reduce of ignorances , would be lessen than it is today.
We may be treated better in the working world. Hopefully, the many of us will be better treated by our parents and siblings . Plus many other things , could have made adapting and living with Epilepsy better.
Thanks for asking in my opinion, knowing more about each other would make the world so much of a better place and with our complicated situations the more people that know what we deal with and how we deal with it I feel like the better the world could be educate, neighbors, friends, family, neologist, and doctors are learning so in my humble opinion, the more we all know the better off we all are please keep up your great efforts
I generally choose not to divulge my epilepsy. That is US and CA law. I am not required to. On the other hand, I think most people have compassion if they do not know then it isn't fair to expect them to know the life a tonic colonic epileptic lives.
Good point Randy, who ever heard of epilepsy before? Like in bios of all the famous their epilepsy is just left out. Said to scare others or make think of insanity. Some medics are more aware now, one told me is part of training now. Modern day view of epilepsy is to treat it as the medical prob it is. People talk about epilepsy like here & sites like FB now. Social stigmas are getting erased slowly but surely.
It may help to some degree, but even if they're made aware of epilepsy, they still won't know what it's like unless they have it.
My brother & his wife are MD's but they won't except or try to believe whay I go through personally & socially/ at work. His wife doesn't even try. Even my old neurologist admitted he couldn't fully understand what I was going through
A Hypothetical Question. Below.
Do You Think That Our Conditions Have Changed Our Personalities Since We Got Them? And Do You Think If Was Lets Say Made You Would Any Dif?
Does This Make Anyone Feel Better About Being Open About Your Epilepsy?
