No sudep that is sudden death. Seziure in your sleep is just that and you come out of it as you would if you had a seziure while awake but always be aware this desiase unlike many is hard to figure out and most people are different in the way their symptoms manifest I always say make a journal to try and keep track of your different symptoms.ihope this helps

Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Most but not all of my seizures occur in my sleep. As for what happens when someone has one in their sleep, things can vary person cause I’ve had different things happen when having a seizure in my sleep. A few years ago when taking a nap I apparently changed my PJ pants & had no memory of changing pants & a year later I apparently had a seizure in my sleep & had a loss of bladder for the first time during a seizure & apparently I walked to my bathroom & removed my feminine pad & put it in the trash with no memory of any of it & another time I woke up confused sliding my hands on my bed like I was looking for something but I soon snapped out of it after waking up & another time I woke up to find myself on the floor beside my bed sliding my finger across the side of my bed & another time I found my glasses underneath my legs & usually kept them in a Kleenex box beside my pillow but now I keep them on my desk beside my bed. I don’t always know I’ve had a seizure & so I might have a seizure in my sleep & sometimes not even know it. After my mouth guard broke that my dentist made me, I couldn’t get another one right away because I didn’t have any insurance & during that time I had 2 different seizures in my sleep, one where I bit my bottom lip & it was so sore, numb & swollen & shortly after that I bit it again but also bit my tongue for the first time. I have TMJ where I grind my teeth when I sleep & that’s why I wear my mouth guard but it helps to protect my mouth when I have a seizure also. There’s also SUDEP, known as Sudden Death in Epilepsy, that you can read about a little boy who passed away from that named www.dannydid.org . Your friend in Austin, Texas, Becky

Well, I guess if you can't tell it happened, it can't be that bad. I went in for a VEEG , had a seizure in my sleep the last night, and that was the first one I knew I had in my sleep. They had to tell me it happened. Who knows how many I had at home but didn't know it? I can't say it affected me

Becky
sounds like your seizures at night are identical to my son's he is 35 and we live together. when he has a seizure at night i rush into his room and wand him with a magnet to activate his VNS. usually that stops the seizure and shortens the post ictal confusion like what you're experiencing.
normally after a seizure he'll go back to sleep, but sometimes he'll remove his sheets or try to make the bed up. rubbing the sheets may be a sensory thing. like you be doesn't remember any thing. reach out any time if you need to chat
