I Would Like To Know What Everyone's Seizure Triggers Are. I'm Having A Lot More Than Normal. What Could I Be Missing?
You have posed a great question. I think everyone's triggers vary; but there are iron clad indicators that affect a lot of people with Epilepsy:
*stress
*alcohol use
*caffeine
*missed medication
*dehydration
*lack of sleep
*overstimulation (exhaustion)
*flashing/bright lights
*high/low blood pressure
*certain medications

Triggers for me are usually stress or being/getting overworked/overwhelmed on stuff. I do meditation and that helps.
The 1st thing you should do is have your medication levels checked because certain things can cause levels to go down, especially if you use things with benedryl, any foods or products that can cause diarrhea, such as polyethylene glycol, metamucil, etc especially if you use it regularly, because to put it simple, it's basically causing the meds to come out of your system when you have more frequent bowel movements. Make sure you get plenty of rest
Stress is a major factor and feeling anxious doesn't help either. Loud noises, people passing in front of me, back and forth. I'm ok with the changes in weather as long as I'm not being bothered by many distractions. Lately been having more seizures and I did some research on my meds and come to find out my blood pressure meds, was a big factor. I don't take any other meds, unless there my seizure meds, cannot risk myself to more unnecessary seizures. I'm trying to do more organic methods.
Stress is a real easy cause. So many times when I feel stressed out, I start to feel 1 coming. Self control is an important thing being epileptic.
