@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member This ^^ @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member If you mean what's the best way to stop a seizure event the recovery meds are the first line treatment. when it's a Tonic clonic that is classed as long. There may be other reason why they put you on them. You may not have TC seizures that offten (like me) so they will treat it carefully.
But in a general sense "treatment wise".If you have only just started having seizures the first line treatment is AED meds then testing.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member you’re right there . Seizure Recovery meds are used as need . They are not a AED medication. I use Lorazepam ( generic of Ativan . ) , which is Originally used for anxiety.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I’ve had my Epilepsy since I was near the age of 2 . When I mentioned about Seizure Recovery meds . I didn’t mean it as it being the first thing to take. AED meds are always the first thing to take at scheduled time. I. Assumed that the person had already taken the AED meds. It’s when the meds don’t work at their fullest . Whether it be because the person isn’t on the right dosage yet or the person Has Refractory Epilepsy ( resistant to meds ) , like I do.

When the person seizures after taking the AED meds , the Seizure Recovery is the best way to go . Too much seizures meds can overdose the person . That’s where the Seizure Recovery Meds come in.
