I Think I Have Seizures Is Because Of My Menstrual. Who Has Seizures Because Of Your Menstrual?

I was 17 when my menstrual period started. I have tried every thing to help. I have taken ever type of seizures medicine. Vegal nerve stimulator. Nothing has helped. Who has had your seizures under control or help stop them? Please let me know so I can tell my neurologist so I can get some help. Thank you 😊

It's understandable to feel frustrated when seizures persist despite trying many treatment options. About 42% of women with epilepsy experience catamenial or menstrual-related seizures. The exact cause is unknown, but research suggests hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle, especially changes in estrogen and progesterone levels, may play a role. There are still treatment options to explore. Many women have found success managing catamenial seizures by tracking their cycles to identify high-risk days, making lifestyle changes, taking hormone medications, or in some cases, having surgery. It's important to discuss all options thoroughly with your neurologist to determine the best personalized treatment plan for you.
