You raise an thoughtful point. Even when sharing a health condition, each person's experience is unique. We can seek to understand each other, but cannot truly know exactly what someone else is going through. At the same time, connecting with others facing similar challenges can help us feel less alone. I think that on this sight we all have some kind of understanding what others are going through. I know my seizures are not nearly as bad as others, but I do feel that I can sympathize with what they are going through
Living with Epilepsy and the entire package that comes with it , is all an experience. Experiencing with our Our Epilepsy itself ,like the seizures,, our medication(s) we are taking , the people around us , like family ,friends public , co-workers and ect . Then there are the many emotion that are involved with Epilepsy. Epilepsy , that we all experienced, may have similar but also different experiences from others.
Dave the short time I've been on this site I have learned more from others then I did since being diagnosed in 1978. What I learned from docs and my own research was more or less general info about my condition. this is real life experiences. I greatly appreciate the articles, the stories, the open dialog, and the suggestions on this site. we can't fully understand how each of us is effected by seizures but we can give each other support to make the day a bit better
My grandson is schizophranic. After talking to him for a bit I discovered that I knew what some of what he has described in my personal life too. Here it is 1 symptoms or sign can be a symptoms or sign of so
many other disorders or diseases. So when people say I understand that, don't discount them out of hand. We know what that feels like all too much. It is possible to understand that, " one thing" in someone else.
