A ? About Our Conditions And Treatment And Such Etc, Just Curious About Below And Wondering Also About It,
I know that we have our own conditions and such etc and live with that, but as the treatment and medication and the test, and our age etc, when the medical field and your condition and doc discuss your options on your condition you have, and bring up a suggested way to go about or offer you with, and say turned down the the suggestion or option they gave you, do later wonder if or ask yourself if that may have been the one that may have been a significant game changer for you and your condition… read more
I had to have surgery bcse the scar tissue from the first brain bleed was making me have constant seizures. My doctor said that’s only one more med I can try to reduce my seizures and I’m researching it but seems like there are a lot of side effects. I already have side effects from one of the meds I’m on and don’t think I want to try another.
I have been on the same cocktail of meds for about 18 years. Except where my current neurologist told me I had CP. and want to lower my Depakote by a third, He was worried about damage to my already screwed brain. We agreed on what it should be since I have to live with this and he does not. I've put in for a new neurologist. at Kiaser. Life is good take everyone. . Ericthom3
I say trust and see what options there are. I went and got 2nd opinion when seizures increased. He has helped and gave me information I didn't know for the past 18yrs. I'm not a candidate for brain surgery as my seizures originate in 2 spots and would probably leave me worse than I am in regards to speech, etc... try trust Dr's if don't I suggest 2nd opinion. I'm glad I did 2nd opinion as I have a whole team looking agter me. My dr is even worried about weight loss which my family dr says don't know cause, but seizure dr wants more tests, as he said I shouldn't be losing weight. So I have many people behind me. Dontt trust your dr try another dr. We gotta trust them they are ones with education and new medication and procedures to try. That's my advise
I say try every treatment available to you. I've had 2 surgeries to remove scar tissue from first avm removal. I tried all meds prescribed because you never know if it is the right cocktail. That's what epilepsy treatment is, more or less finding the rigjt treatment for you. I trust my neurologist. Any side effects I let him know. The body takes a while to get used to new meds so give it time. Best of luck to you. 💜
I was younger , but I had many seizures a month a long with strong seizures now and then. . I was offered the brain surgery on my Left Temporal Lobe . With all my seizures I was having , including the frequency of.them I went for it.
The surgery didn’t decrease my seizures, but helped reduce the frequency of the seizures. I’ve also gone through the VNS and DBS . The VNS didn’t work well. When I did the DBS in 2022 and still have it working today. It has reduced my seizures.
I’ve done all these , praying to be seizure free.
