This is what my 14 year old daughter has been struggling with for the last 6 months and prior was diagnosed with epilepsy starting when she was 9 years olds. Has been on and off meds since then. THe last time we weened her off her meds which was in February of 2024 and was approved by doctor due to over 2 years EEG where "normal" and was had not had any episodes that whole time. A month later her brother left for the military (they weren't that close) and she started having them again. Neuro did the video EEG and now diagnosed with non-epileptic seizures??Meds are not working now for 6 months. Have her scheduled to see physiatrist but waiting for appt due to insurance etc...
Suggestions, advice - PLEASE!!!!!

Yes, it's possible for someone to experience psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), also called nonepileptic seizures, only at night. These seizures resemble epileptic seizures but have psychological rather than neurological causes. The symptoms of nocturnal PNES can look much like other types of nocturnal seizures, including uncontrolled muscle movements, rigid limbs, or brief and clustered seizures. People may wake up feeling exhausted, confused, with injuries from seizure activity, or no memory of the episodes.

I agree with you and your post here and the other people's posts here, but I think that you could get some suggestions from the medical field etc or her doc and see what they have to say about this âť“, and If I'm not mistaken she could be seen by the ER regardless of having insurance to my recollection, it is a law I think, but my suggestion to you, hang in there to get the info from reliable people and sources and go from there, hang in there and try and stay pos, good luck with that,. my opinion here
