Has anyone experienced cognitive decline due to your epilepsy? I definitely have, proven last december. But i feel it getting worse. Im just curious who else deals with this because it can be rather frustrating

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Sometimes I start to describe what I am trying to remember and it will come back to me. Or I remember as I am dropping off to sleep or in the shower.

The other day I was trying to tell my bf I had broken the drawer... I had to stand there for a good 3-4 minutes trying to remember what it was called. And I started getting panicked cuz I knew I should know what the d*** thing was. I had never heard of cognitive decline due to epilepsy until I read your question and of course jumped online. I swear every single issue is one something I deal with. It helped some just knowing I wasn't just going insane like I thought I was.

I have issues, but I had it tested and the testing proved I was okay. I did notice that I have memory changes in that the memory is there, it just takes me longer to recur the memory. I do think that epilepsy, medication, and menopause are all causes memory and cognitive problems.
