I'm Having Problems With Not Being Able To Find Words For Things, It's Very Irritating. Especially When It's My Kids Or Grandbabies Names.
I have a great grand and her name is Presley but I'm constantly calling her paisley. I feel so bad but my brain just will not cooperate. I was counting tonight and when I got to 5 or 6 my brain jumped into the teens, this is something new. I had a seizure about ten minutes by what my daughter saw on new years eve. she was very upset when I finally came back from lala land. I don't drink or any of that and I take my meds regularly. it seems since my neuro added the zonisamide to my primodone that… read more
thanks so much my friends for the help, you guys are great 😊😊
Aa a former Texan, I'll chime in and hopefully help you feel better. I get word finding, esp. related to my Estrogen levels. I am on HRT and cannot seem to get the level evened out. And I, too have what Doc calls complex tics. Vocalizations with or without eye blinking, hand tapping and a few others. I felt very anxious about it, bc my tics seem so much like auras, and I never know if I need more antiseizure meds, but now I am just happy to know I am not alone. Hope that helps, a bit.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I would suggest you let your doctor or the nurse know the symptoms you’re experiencing. Maybe they can suggest how to handle it & possibly make improvements on things. You might see if you can remember when the issue started & let them know that information as well & see if those symptoms started around any time of something else, like an adjustment in your medication or something. Since mid 2019 I’ve been experiencing verbal tics for some unknown reason & we have no idea what caused them. It’s similar to Tourette’s but not near as severe. I say or holler words , names, phrases or humming or moaning noises. My verbal tics occur more often when I’m around people. I wish you all the best & pray things get better for you. It's understandable to feel frustrated when you have trouble finding words or remembering names, especially those of loved ones. This can happen to some people after a seizure. Give yourself grace as your brain recovers. Stay in touch with your doctor about medication adjustments if problems persist. Remember that you have Show Full Answer
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member,
During the time I've had epilepsy most of the years living. I had things like that on memories that were more difficult for me. When did like remembering my Dr.s name and other things. I would think of a word that rhymed with what I was trying to recall and that would help or writing it down if thought of that first. Sorry you're going through that. Try not letting it stress you, that being something that could provoke a seizure.
