I’ve Been On Keppra For Two Weeks. How Long Should I Anticipate Side Effects As I’m Adjusting To The Medication?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Holmen, WI

Is there an average time symptoms take effect? At what point should I be concerned or ask my doctor if a change in medication is necessary?

Please think of how well seizures are controlled first. Cuz of mine on Keppra first month told me he hated it. Wife puzzled cause no seizures. Saw him 2 months later told me he loved. Has been seizure free over 6 years now. First angry reactions are due to mind adjusting to the neede changes by med to avoid seizures. Any that persist Dr will just take you off it too.

It takes up to a month to fully adjust to it. You can still get the odd side effect hear and there but it shouldn't be as bad as what it is when you first start it,
