What Should I Do If I Experience An Aura?
I have had seizures on two occasions. My first ever, two years ago, occurred when I was asleep. The second was earlier this year when I was awake. With the second incident I had, what I now know was, an aura 45 - 60 minutes before I had a tonic-clonic seizure.
I've had my condition since 7, but after this long I think that I've had my share of them, I have gotten to a point where I don't actually look for a aura or make any notes about them, even if they… read more
Have Anyone Had A Nurse Putting Your Medications In Your Pill Pack And You Still Find Errors In The Dosage?
I have been trusting a nurse to put my pills in my pill pack so I won't get them mixed up. This morning I found more than one error in my main seizure pills. The error was that the the pills was supposed to be taken 2 pills twice a day. I found out that the day meds were correct, but the night pills only had 1 pill in the pack for this medication. I had been feeling bad all week. I thought it was my stomach problems from the past. Now I believe it is a combination. Now my husband has to go back… read more
What Do You Do To Keep Yourself Awake During The Day
I fell asleep yesterday just before I was about to eat, I missed eating and taking my medication, then when I woke up over two hours later I took my medication, then I had a fall over on the floor found it hard to get up, I missed eating.
We all have our own ways, but what we must do is to eat, sleep, drink and make sure we take our medication on time, then we can support, live, love + laugh every day Take care.
I Stare, And My Face Goes Blank When I Will Have A Seizure. During One, I Move My Eyebrows And Do Movements. What Is An Aura?
They are now called Partial Awareness, rather than Absence. If I urinate, often I recover quickly. If not, I did need to sleep a lot. My Triggers are not sleeping well or enough, eating well or enough, being overheated and stress.
What used to be called an Aura, I will have a sense of movement, almost a feeling of motion sickness, a taste of burnt carrots, and a smell of citrus. However, my conscious awareness would sometimes… read more

Does Someone With Epilepsy Remember The Things They Said/did During A Seizure/PNES?
If not, how does one cope with the stress of not being able to remember? My family
keep saying I don't remember things that i want to remember and i think i do. I don't really know if I do or not. It's frustrating and frightening all at the same time. Idk
For me, I do not remember. Someone wrote earlier, it's not me that's devastated after a seizure fall, it's those who find me or are there and see it
I'm sorry it's so hard for you. Also it's… read more

Photosensitive Epilepsy
Recently I’ve had 2-3 seizure brought on by the brightness of the sun. My 1st thought was how can something as beautiful as the sun cause so much pain?Lately I’ve started putting my head down when outside just to avoid the direct light from hitting my eyes particularly after sunrise. I’ve never been diagnosed with photosensitive epilepsy but I do know that your pattern of seizures can change over time. Has anyone else experienced this and did wearing darker lenses glasses help with this?
I don't believe my sunlight sensitivity is caused by epilepsy. I'd be having seizures every day, a few times a day. I live in Florida.
As For The Med Bracelet, I Have Never Been Asked By Medical Field To Get One With My Epilepsy, Is It A Necessity Or What?
I think that it's a good idea for people and their condition, but just want to know your thoughts and such, I just never had that suggested or brought up after all my years with my epilepsy, my opinion
I keep a list of meds in my wallet and wear the bracelet with epilepsy engraved along with my name. Because when I have a seizure I drop and am out.
