Would This Help You After A Seizure? Please Tell Me Your Opinions.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Denver, CO

I already got some feedback on something similar to this, but I'm going to put it all out there now because I've done a TON of research on all of this.

Would it help you to have a watch (a good looking one, not crappy. Maybe even custom) or an app on your phone that you could program to fit your needs after a seizure?

I often have seizures alone and I'm working with a couple developers to bring this to fruition so having a seizure alone isn't so traumatic. I'm building a watch that has the… read more

There are mobile Urgent Care s, now. Could it call one of those, or someone else? Only a human being will help, as I, too, am wonky to the max, afterward.

Anyone With TLE Also Have A Thyroid Issue?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Brisbane, AU

So, I found out something interesting today basically by accident. The GP ordered I had my health assessment with is getting me to do a blood test which includes thyroid tests TSH, TFT

I've never had these before. Originally I didn't really think much of it and just thought it was probably just a standard test. will admit I do have some of the symptoms of thyroid issues. Having said that I did look into it and found out that the thyroid gland is basically controlled by the hypothalamus in… read more

Is Dilantin A Common Medication Used By People In This Community?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Cleveland, OH

I know it is one of the older medications out there. I would like to know positive or negative experiences you had while taking this drug.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I was on Dilantin for many, many years when I was young. I also experienced gum problems and dizziness. I was weaned off it though when I was about 35.

Keppra And Breaking Teeth?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Brisbane, AU

Hey,
has anyone who has been on Keppra had any issues with chipping teeth or with an unknown cause? I started it just over two months ago and within a month, I noticed my very front left tooth was chipped and today it happened to my front right. Origally I put it down to maybe a possible nocturnal seizure but this time my tooth basically broke with no explanation so I'm not sure what it could be.

Has anyone else had anything else like this happen while on Keppra?

Thanks.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member

I have had quite a few teeth capped as far as my Dr told me from beginning that it eats away at the enamel that and possibly grind teeth I used to do all that
That and I take 4000 daily but we all… read more

Does Anyone Track There Sleep With A Fitbit Or Smart Watch?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Brisbane, AU

Hey everyone,

So over the last few months, I've been tracking my sleep with a Fit bit. Generally, the amount of sleep I get is good it's about 6 and half hrs on average. One issue I have noticed with the majority of my sleep patterns is that there is a lot of wake-up lines that only last for 1-3 mins or sometimes they can be as less as 15 seconds to 55 seconds. Could this just be a glitch with my Fit bit? Or is this an obvious sign of nocturnal seizures? I have only just been tested for… read more

Do We Have Too High Expectations?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Sydney, AU

So this question is based on the fact ,that how 2 neurologists, a general practioner and ER doctors didn't recognise my symptoms were due to a TBI (traumatic brain injury), I partly blame myself as i only remembered a few incidents that could lead to an instability of the cervical spine awaiting scan results
Which comes hand in hand with TBI
Are we to blame as patients for not remembering an incident that have caused our symptoms or do we blame the medical professionals for not recognising… read more

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member
