I gained about 15lbs on lamictal and everyone told me I was crazy... There was no way the medication could cause the weight gain! I started dieting/exercise which helped a little. I also suffer from migraines and added topamax to the lamictal. Topamax has anticonvulsant properties too. It has helped me lose all of the weight I put on taking lamictal. So, now I take both.

I have been on it for a few years and at first it caused me to gain weight and now, no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to lose any weight.

Don't get discouraged.. I don't let it. I just think I'm like another"curvy" Marilyn Monroe was!!.. hahaha

Yep. Also gaining weight from Lamictal. About 20lbs in 12 mos. Very discouraging. 😕

I went from a size 2 to a size 14 now. It all had to do with My Meds. I never used the"pill" but as I got in My 40's, the period changed. The Gynecologist and My Neurologist decided for Me to use it. It made it worse and the weight jumped right on Me! Now being post-menstrual, never lost that weight...oh well.. I still enjoy life the same!!😘😘😄😄
