Twitching

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I have been having more seizures this year (10 so far) but what I want to know is why (when I'm not having a seizure) my body twitches randomly. My husband told me he can feel me twitching during the night in my sleep. Am I the only one that this happens to?

Twitching could be myclonus. Which can ve as minor as a hiccup. I have them ,the dr calls it myclonic movement disorder. A lot of people have myclonus, kind of like when your reading a book and your tingue kinda gets stuck. If it affect your life negativity, its a disorder.
If mine are out of control, ie I havent slept, am super stressed out or wven worse a combination of both, I could have a seizure.
Keeping on top of my triggers help me to keep them at bay, that at marijuana : )

Yeah when I had major seizures before the meds started working it took about 6 months before it slowly went away. Now my seizures are minor so I'm sure that helps with the twitching. I think it still has something to do with your brain "Mis firing" but that's just a guess

Hi, I have gramd mal but I also have these twitches. Some during the day but mostly at night. Strong enough to wake me up. I was told these may be myclonic seizures. I'll know for sure after my eum testing next month.
