How To Deal With A Few Hours Of Sleep

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Sometimes I only get 2 hours of sleep and then have to go on with my day. When I don't get enough sleep I get twitches, shakes, and more complex partials. Obviously the risk of a Grand Mal. Does anyone know how to deal with these besides the normal medication routine?

I have insomnia as well, I think its pretty normal for us. I finally started a nighttime routine that I follow somewhat religiously.
It starts with no blue light an hour before bed. No cellphone, no t.v, no tablet. I make myself some sleepytime tea and grab a book, magazine, the mail something, sometimes I'll just cuddle with my hubby (he likes that one best)
Also i started working out in January, 25 lbs diwn, yay
So now come 10, my body is so done with the day.
In short, a nighttime routine will be your best friend

That's happened to to me as well, now and then, I have had 3 3/4 sleep and went to work in my years, the hrs varied but not much now, i have a good routine of prayer and bible study I have put together and that does help with that, I have a few times I'll be a little awake and such before bed, but, like I said my routine takes care of that, then I will get into bed and eventually get to sleep, 15 or 30 min I'll be awake maybe a little longer, but not much of a problem as for me, but has happened now and then.my opinion

Finding that comfortable place to sleep may help. I have only been sleeping for the last few months since someone gave me a recliner. I put the back into a comfortable position and the legs up. I watch tv and fall asleep. Since I have been sleeping, I can sometimes get in my bed and also fall asleep. i am not getting eight hours of sleep but a lot more than I was getting before,

Lack of sleep ladies is a big seizure problem! worst case scenario - ZZquil or some sleepy time tea!! - maybe both! Even talk to doc about a sleep med! I got some Trazadone - so strong I actually cut the pill in half - and it works!
