Have You Ever Been Treated Differently Or Discriminated Against By An Employer?
If so, how?

When I mentioned having epilepsy to my employer after having worked there for over a year, she made my life absolutely miserable. Every mistake I made, she attributed to my epilepsy. She got unions involved, etc., and I was so stressed out I had more seizures. Finally, as I quit my job after three years in, I told her how horrible it had been working for her. She told me I would never be able to be a teacher, but I went ahead and decided to get my teachers’ certificate anyways. I’ve been teaching for 7 years now and absolutely love it🙂 You can’t control how simple-minded people think, but you can turn things around and prove how wrong they are.
I was employed in Childcare centre here in Sydney Australia. Before questioning me about my roles, I told them I'm epileptic and gave them a paper from my doctor. I didn't know they didn't tell the director. When the director found out, even though I'm a permanent, they won't give me shift and fired me.
thank you for sharing your inspiring story!
I want to go back, even if it is part time. My sister said; If I was hiringing., I would not hire you with your seizures., I don't care I'm gonna andgoodluck to you with your teaching Degree.
I applied for a job and on the interview I told the mean lady I have epilepsy. They told me to go have a seat in the hall. I heard the mean lady telling her boss. “We can’t hire that freak she’s got epilepsy.” I cried all night that night. 30 years ago.
