Twice A Day Tablets: Should I Take Them 7am And 7pm (12 Hours Apart) Or 7am And 3pm, As They Have A Life Of 8 Hours?
Just started Keppra, they just told me “twice a day”. Not sure if theres much point taking them before bed. What do you do?
Good choice, I think thats better cause you dont want to take some medicines to close to one another, mind has to be 9am and 9pm
i always took mines before going to bed because it makes me sleepy and i am able to sleep through the nite with no problem .
I used to take keppra and my doc said 12 hours apart and make sure you try to take it about the same time everyday. I have an alarm set at 9 am & 9 pm. When I went on vacation to Colorado which was a hour ahead I slowly changed my time the week before to 8 so my body had time to adjust. Make sure you drink lots of water. Keppra is broken down by the kidneys & I could tell if I didnt drink enough water the day before by how tired I would be.
If you take your medication regularly, i.e. twice a day, every day, etc., you don't need to look/obey too much at the halflife of the medication, because the medication is quite concentrated in your system. The halflife of @keppra is in deed bet. 7 ... 8 hours. But this doesn't mean that there in NO more medication in your system. It also depends on your lifestyle, the halflife may be longer.
I have always been taking my Lamictol and tegretal 9am and 9 pm, for you I go every 12 hrs
