Disability Advice
My initial disability claim was denied. The denial letter didn't even mention eligibility for partial disability. Anyone have luck or advice for getting their own claim granted on appeal?
i think the ssi people get something noticeable or on there watch. seizures are random and unpredictable, the opposite of what they wanted.
one time (when i had to renew my ssi) they said i am cured of seizures. as they said that, i had a good seizure (aura into a partial). and with that they renewed my ssi.
Thanks everyone. The decision letter even listed and confirmed epilepsy, surgeries, depression, anxiety, etc... and went on to say but you have use of your arms and legs and can follow instructions. Lol. I guess you have to be completely vegetative for them to approve it. I'll DEFINITELY appeal and lawyer up. At a minimum I'll seek partial disability and work part time
I was denied 3 times then went to federal level and I got it. With 5 years back pay. Don't give up keep appealing it. Get a lawyer. Good luck
Rarely does anyone get approved for disability the first time they apply. You should always appeal their decision but make sure to provide plenty of documentation. I always dug up as much paperwork from doctors and hospitals as i could find on all medical conditions I currently have. Not all people with epilepsy are considered disabled by the government. If you look up on the social security disability website, it lists guidelines for what qualifies you for disability as an epileptic. It took me years to get approved for disability.
