Hi I have thought of it I told my x husband for many years seizures I was having were happening during my menstrual cycle He never listened but the Dr and I see a eptoligist excuse my spelling he is a seizure specialist thinks that maybe after menopause the seizures may stop so guess we will see
That is a major surgery. You need to speak to your doctor about that, not people on a message board.
Mine come around that time too. I ask my OB/GYN about having a hysterectomy and she said not to rush things. I have been seizure free going on 17 years, I am thankful, but I hate all the meds, the weight I can’t seem to lose and the cost of my VNS when it will need replacing again.
It's very safe back in '92 I had a bilateral tubaligation then in '05 I had a total both was because I couldn't have children.but it all depends on the type of epilepsy, and medication that You're taking. Make an appointment with both your gynecologist and neurologist and all of you sit and discuss it with you. And you make the decision I decided to have a total hysterectomy Back in '05 this was fourteen years ago. I felt that this was the best decision for myself.
I know a couple of ladies whose seizure disorder stopped after hysterectomy.
