there is a lot of types of ssi (mom is a med billing). there is medicare, medicaid, ssdi, and aarp. there is many more but it is not focus on disability. medicare is working, medicaid is low income and disabled as a kid, ssdi is sudden disabled, and aarp is retirement money. all but the medicaid need a job. i was a kid so i get medicaid money.
my advice is get a local lawyer or someone that knows the disability stuff. if you deny there disability thing... fight harder.

Applying for SSDI will depend on how much you have worked . You may want to start out with SSI first. Once you are in the system, you can try for SSDI

If you do decide to try for SSI or SSDI make sure you have a lot of documentation from your Dr.s and specialists who may have info on your Epilepsy.

Make sure if you get a attorney that you talk to others in person that have used them. I messed up and got the wrong one and they basically did nothing. If you hire one and they dont come to see you or call you on a regular basis fire them.
