What Is The Best Medication To Take While Pregnant?
I am trying different medications right now that are safe to take while pregnant, but they haven’t worked well for me and I keep having seizures. Just wondering if any women can tell me medications that worked for them while pregnant?
I know im not a woman but one of my doctors told me [[treatment:lamotrigine:5886933ce1f26a6dd712ae62]] was a very safe short term and long term meds she told me even a pregnant could take it
I have three. The first one I took myself off of my medication because I found out what birth defect it could cause. After the child was born I took too long to build my medication back up and had my first grand mal. My children are fine, however, the grand mal made everything worse. So much so so, I didn’t come down on my medication and my second one had learning problems but is better now. The third has seizures and must take medication. Just check with the doctor to see if a lower dosage would be okay. Don’t stop taking what you need.
I was placed on Phenobarbital with the pregnancy of my only son at the time I was determined to be pregnant (already 2 months pregnant was currently taking Depakote which was NOT good for pregnancy and could cause fetal damage). Although I was able to immediately change to phenobarbital, my son was born healthy, yet I was NOT able to breastfeed, since the baby is already feeling “addictive “ to phenobarbital while growing inside my tummy. He had to immediately take baby formula as milk. The Phenobarbital did NOT reduce or stop seizures for me, yet my son was born completely healthy and is now 26 years old.
Thank you very much for that info. I’ll look into that!
Thank you. I have been asking my doctor and not getting many answers. I’ve tried two meds that are safe to take while pregnant and I may need to try another that will work better for me. It’s been a long journey.
