I've had them for 53 years. The doctor said I may outgrow it, but it never happened. Mine is hereditary. Is yours? If it is most likely you'll never go w/o meds unless they can prove you have no seizures w/o meds☹️

Epilepsy was discovered when I was twelve and I am now sixty five. I have no idea how many different medications that I have been on. Brain surgery in 2004 and Vimpat since 2012, seizure free ever since the Vimpat.

I seemed to stop having seizures for over 20 years since my laser surgery in 2002. They kept me on a couple meds throughout the years. What I always referred to as my "just in case" meds.
Well, last year, it had been over 20 years with no seizures. And I wanted to see if I was actually cured. So I slowly cut back on my Phenotoin, no problems. A few months later I cut back my Phenobarbital and had a seizure. Over 20 years and I had to do something stupid.
