Is Anyone Else Cursed With Being Empathetic Along With Epilepsy Or Seizure Disorder?
In my case, this means that it is painful for me to hear about suffering of people and animals throughout the world. Thus, this year has been extra tough because of Covid-19. And my stress level is getting worse because the holiday season in late fall and into the winter means more people will get Covid-19 because too many people refuse to change from their annual holiday plans.
Friday evening I had 2 hours of aura barrage. And 6:30 AM today, I had a full seizure. For whatever reason, God… read more
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member You nailed it!!! We have to stop hiding!!! Every time I read a post on here from someone regarding how embarrassed they are about having epilepsy, I point out that 11% of the population has some form of epilepsy (one in nine people). There is NOTHING to be afraid or ashamed of. People just don't talk about having epilepsy. Be proud of yourself. You are a survivor. I used to get depressed about having epilepsy, but then I looked at the numbers and realized that I wasn't going to commit suicide over having a epileptic disorder. Then I met my best friend----she's an epileptic, too. So, live your life and enjoy it.
Absolutely, Epilepsy and mental disorders have truly brought me to being more compassionate than I thought possible. God has watched over me too. If I meet anyone that is struggling with life, Jesus shows me the compassion and love He has for all people and especially those that suffer. It’s extremely difficult sometimes because of course the tv preachers and the name ut claim crowd have no experience in suffering like this. The beatitudes bring perspective to sufferings and I feel closest to God while I’m suffering or just hearing the sufferings of others. Thank you for sharing!
Completely. Social media causes such pain, I glide past anything that might be upsetting but somehow even just headlines hit me very hard. I do get seizure which ruins days at a time while I heal up. The barrage of emotions can sling me into depressions. Sadly I never have memories of my seizures. I just know by injuries or the massive disorientation which also causes depression. I also suffer from all over fibromyalgia pain which limits me in different ways.
I have no insurance or doctors right now but hope to after I get Medicare later this year. I use strong CBD oil and edible marijuana to control most seizures. I just run out of the edibles till friends can help resupply me. I never take enough to get the high feeling because I don't like that feeling.
Learning to live with these with natural plants can be tricky but I like that I don't have to deal with pharmaceutical side effects. I had been on 5 different pharmaceuticals which never stopped the seizures, just made me gain weight which I hate more than the seizures.

From one EPILEPTIC to another we must show respect towards one another.
NEVER talk down to someone & make them feel "Small or uninformed"
ALL EPILEPTICS are your equal~ WE all have the same affliction.
Just in varying deggres of severity.

THANK YOU for your way of looking at things.
YOU do it correctly~ From both sides.& then pick which side works for you.
I'm mostly same way ~ except I have a hard time when people don't want to see how someone is hurting our Country
Would love to read some of your poetry.
