Do Any Adults Still Have Trouble With Flashing Lights?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am 51 years old and never outgrown flashing lights making me feel sick. My mother told me that while riding in a car as a child, headlights, and flashes of sunlight through the trees would trigger a seizure. I no longer have seizures because of them however they make me feel nauseous and foggy.

Flashing lights have contributed to my seizures. I used to have seizures within a couple of days after Independance day. We love fireworks. We now know to avoid strobe light fireworks, I try to cover my eyes around emergency vehicles
& I avoid TV & movies that have strobes or lots of flashing lights.

Flashing lights are a trigger for seizures. Just like mentioned before sitting in front of a computer for hours is a trigger also. Playing video games for long periods of time are a big trigger. My guess the worst are :Not getting enough sleep the worst something is if a person does not take their medication.
