Zoom Call-New Topic Suggestions;First Call Went Great!
Thank you to John, Patrick and Sam (Sam send me a message so I have your @name) who participated in the Zoom call with me, Marsha, on Saturday the 22nd. It was beneficial and insightful to bounce ideas around on topics to discuss and we would like to hear from others on this site as well as have more join us.
We are in the process of deciding on 1) when to have the calls, especially due to time zones) and it may be as we grow that we split groups into time zones and countries) as it is needed… read more
I have already been talking with a friend from Australia to at least have one meeting between us and whoever is available at the time. We are both willing, but we just to clear about the proper time.
As for Bryan, I have not heard back from him after we had our meeting and I posted what I remembered in the section under my question with regards to ZOOM.
He and I had our meeting. It was few days before that ZOOM meeting (the 4 of us had).
I asked in the area following the discussion question about having ZOOM meeting(s) if anyone would be interested in hosting on one of the other options to ZOOM, but I do not recall a posted response there from Bryan there. He and I had talked about when we had our meeting.
Others have expressed interested in having meetings in various meeting bases, so we are on our way to getting more meetings going and after your posting following mine (and thus containing much more than I recalled) we might even get more input about subject oriented meetings like the great one that you suggested that I think would be a good place to start to make sure to find out what people have on the local level in the form of the plan and possibly a proxy.
We have got things started. The four of us can have a conversation to see if we can at least set up a 2nd meeting in early February. And hopefully by then we will have more input from others and I will have heard back from the people who built and run this site with regards to a location to store the meeting recordings so that those who cannot attend a meeting can join the discussion of the topic.
This would be huge for meetings with friends --especially as far away as Australia/New Zealand, but also in other time zones in our part of the opposite end of the 24 hour day of the Earth not to mention with friends in Europe and Africa and other time zones over here.
We have progress.
Thank you very much for commenting Marsha!
I gave as much as I could recall. And when we have the recordings going that can benefit those who cannot make the meetings but also those who do and need to refresh and take notes from what we discussed.
I think that the Seizure Action Plan is a great one to start with, but it will be great to hear from others who were not present for our meeting.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member That’s great!
Talk to Bryan and the others about maybe creating groups by country (by delegating them to the people who live in those countries) of 2-3 people that may be in other countries like Australia. I have found in the past running groups around the globe that this works. Later, we can all come together at a time we choose to discuss what is happening in the individual groups. Just an idea to think on in advance.
I have sent the question about whether they have a potential site that we could post the recordings from the meetings. Otherwise, we will have to use YouTube or the like, as we discussed in the meeting. I will let you know when I hear back from them.
Sounds great John.
