Any surgery is not a guaranteed that it will cure all of your seizures. So, we all have to wait months after the surgery. Everyone's seizure is different. I was recommended ablation surgery years ago and the surgery was a success. I was seizure free for 16 months. Then seizures started to come back but in a reduced state. I am now at one every 4 months which I can deal with. It is better than 4 seizures a month. I didn't have any side effects except for when eating ice cream, a brain freeze is a little more intense. So, I have to be careful about that. I don't remember how long the procedure was but I can tell you I went he the same day. If you are looking for advice, I will say ask 9999 questions until you are absolutely comfortable about the surgery. Do research on the web.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, I had Focal Tonic Clonic before surgery. Months after the surgery I have developed Complex-Partial.
