Can Myoclonic Jerks Lead To Long Periods Of Micro Shaking?
So, I'm currently in the process of being diagnosed with what's most likely Myoclonic jerks. This whole thing only really came about because I reported random limb twitches (leg, arm ect) to my neurologist then over time it progress into full body jolts. I now get this strange feeling where it feels like my whole body is micro-shaking/vibrating mainly if my legs are flat or I'm laying down. @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I'm being tested for it over three days via video eeg starting today.
No I did not have parneoplastic issue, have just had all these tests again, will not get results till early May as my Professor is away at a conference
I was in hospital with cellulitis and because of my Stiff Person Syndrome I was regularly being checked up on during that time I had 2 seizures very close together it was then that consultant neurologist diagnosed me as having epilepsy, I have Myoclonic Jerks plus Grand Mall and Absence seizures, I am fully awake and fully aware but am basically a passenger I can do nothing but ride it out, my epilepsy began with jerks in bed, then it progressed to being pushed back in my chair with incredible force, the roof in my home was scarred by the objects that hit it, phones, forks, ice cream, anything in my hand was thrown at incredible force.
Then I started having the Grand Mall type seizures..
Was having lunch sitting in my wheelchair when the Auras started building up then about 6 minutes later had a monumental seizure, shaking uncontrollably dropped my phone left badly shaken, my wife said worst one ever, was still shaking internally then I started having jolts so have taken a Diazepam hoping this helps the shakes..lost my ability to speak..voice returned at 5pm, I have many micro jerks,
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member did you have an underlying malignancy when you were diagnosed with stiff person syndrome usually that's associated with cancer.
@ Jack
Next time you have one of these myoclonic jerks try covering one eye either the left or the right eye ,I have found just in my experience that either cover one of my eyes either the left or right calms or stops them but when I do that my body doesn't react very nicely .
or trying looking at the colour blue that also calms my movements.
Myoclonics At Night Or During Nap Time.
