I Would Like To Ask You In A Crisis Period During A Seizure, Apart From Emergency Help, How Do The Loved Ones Around You Help You?
Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , You might make a list of Emergency phone numbers. Here is a link from www.epilepsy.com that talks about what to do if someone has a seizure & when it’s necessary to call the emergency number for help: https://www.epilepsy.com/recognition/seizure-fi... . I saw on your page you have a young son & so just make sure he knows what to do & what to watch out for if you have a seizure. Hope this helps. Here in the United States we have what’s called an Epilepsy Foundation that offers support for those with Epilepsy & offers support groups, programs, events & resources to those with Epilepsy. I looked to see if something like that was available in your country but it came up & was in a different language & so I didn’t know if that’s what I was trying to show you or not but you can look & see, I went to www.Google.com & typed in “Bulgaria Epilepsy Foundation” & it was the top website that I looked at. Goro, first thing, if you’re on the floor, I have been told they should try to get you to lie on your side, to keep your airway open so you do not stop breathing. Then someone should start counting/ timing the seizure. If it lasts more than two minutes, then the recommendation is to see a Dr. The loved ones should not restrain you, but just make sure you don’t hurt yourself. If you have a neurologist that treats you normally, then report to them what happened.
Well, a lot of my seizures are hard to spot unless there very obvious so no. When I had my last one which did end up in emergency yes, literally everyone pitched in and helped out.
Knowing and understanding Epilepsy First Aid. What to do to keep the person seizuring safe, until help comes
Kathryn13 and I know so and have been told so. But the associate professor has a different opinion. I mentioned that even with surgery, I will stay with the consumption of drugs. This is not a disease but a change in brain function. In order for there to be no Christpie, I have to change my whole brain. maybe there is remission for 2, 5, 10 years, but sometime after a provocation there will be a breakthrough seizure. Of course, I find support in the group and I don't give up. Now it is important to find an experienced neurologist and the right treatment. Have a nice weekend!
