Do Any Have You Have Insular-opercular Epilepsy?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Monterey, CA

Hi just wondering if anyone of you have insular-opercular epilepsy. If you do have it, what treatment options have you sought besides medication? Drugs aren't working and my seizures are getting worse. For those that haven't have heard of it, it's a drug resistant form of epilepsy that is known as the great mimicker. It's so deep in the brain that a scalp eeg and mri often can't pick it up.

Yeah not a lot of info out there. My epileptologist is great and caught it early on. Just now stuck in the dilemma about what would be the next best steps.

Hi KevinLee, I've never heard of this type seizure so of course I googled it. All I could find is Insular Seizures. (nothing about opercular). Here is a link that seemed helpful. I hope possibly you find a good epiletologist. https://practicalneurology.com/articles/2019-se...
