Why Are My Seizures Always Different?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Lake Highlands Dallas, Texas

The two I’ve had this year (2024) are not the same in regards to the auras I’ve had in the past. I was diagnosed with grand mal seizures but I never go unconscious. Nor do I shake or jerk but I do have tremors.

Hi Brandi
Yeah, my seizures are different also. No grand mal seizures anymore. It is good you are not going unconscious. Maybe you are not having grand mal seizures.

Medicare is such a blessing!

I have had one test which did not result in why I have seizures. I don't think I will have any more tests. They cost TOO much, I live on Social Security, so I cannot pay my part of the bill. TOO Expensive.

I get your frustration. Im also all over the map. Its is different with each person.

In my case, I’ve done plenty of tests and they are all pointed toward me having insular opercular epilepsy. The insula is connected to many areas of the brain and might help explain why my seizures are all over the map.

Hopefully your doctor has an answer for you!
