Anyone On Here That Has Controlled Seizures With Meds?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Port Orchard, WA

I don’t have seizures unless I don’t take my medicine, don’t get me wrong, I am VERY thankful, but the side effects from the meds and the season changing is kickin my ass! Any tips?

Very true. I’m scared to change cause I’ll have a breakthrough seizure just because of changing. I’m starting to feel better now. I take keppra. It’s just the ups and downs of anger and depression. Crazy real feeling dreams. Memory loss. And others im forgetting in this moment. Again, I am very thankful for no seizures. I think getting back into the gym has helped also. Even only 2 days but I think the endorphins are really helping.
Thank you for your thoughts!

B vitamins and Vitamin D help with mood. Also Electrolyte powder helps with dizziness, just a bit.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , Your seizures may be controlled . That doesn’t mean you’re free from Epilepsy.

If you feel your medication(s) side effects are bad , you may want to let your Dr. Know . Your Dr. Will decide whether it’s worth changing your meds or not.

I don’t know what type of side effects you’re experiencing, but there are many many medications that may have side effects worse than what you’re experiencing. At the same time there maybe meds with side effects, that aren’t as bad .

If your having many seizes, like clusters, bigger seizures / grand Mal, or they last longer than 5mins . You may want to find out, if your Dr. Will prescribe Seizure Recovery medications. They help stop your seizures.

Thank you everyone for your experiences. Idk if there’s a way to respond to you individually like on other social medias, if so I’m not finding how. 😅 anyway-I appreciate all of them. And wish all of you a healthy journey!
