Seizures At Night Only?
Since surgery last october(2022) I noticed my seizure gradually coming back a bit more mainly around my period mainly but they happen usually ONLY at night and I take my meds ONLY at night even though I'm supposed to take them morning and night. I stopped taking morning meds almost 3 years ago in 2020. My doctor know about that. I just don't understand how I go all day seizure free but as soon as its dark out bout to be bed time bam.... life starts handing me seizures instead of lemons. Likeā¦ read more
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , The reason youāre only experiencing your seizures only at night might have something to do with the type of seizures you have. I have complex partial seizures & nocturnal seizures where I have seizures in my sleep. Most but not all of my seizures occur in my sleep. My seizures arenāt as frequent or severe as some peoples, however, I donāt have auras & so I donāt always know Iāve had a seizure unless I notice something is odd or someone witnesses it like my Mom or stepdad who I still live at home with. Iām 45 & have had seizures since the 2nd grade after hitting my head on the monkey bars but no one knows for sure if I got them from that, my Dad or both. When I began seeing my current Neurologist in 2019, she did a 5 day in hospital video EEG & being that my seizures arenāt frequent, I didnāt have one during the EEG, however, they said that while I slept the EEG showed mostly Focalized seizure activity but some Generalized seizure activity. So, the EEG did show something. I had another Neurologist that I saw a few years ago, tell me I have Frontal Temporal Lobe seizures. I was reading one of my Facebook Memories about that & thatās said most with that type of seizure, have seizures in their sleep. Have you talked with your doctor about maybe doing an in hospital video EEG, where you stay in the hospital for a few days & they take you off all your y? This might help to explain when the seizure activity in your brain occurs. I use to not be able to lay down on the couch in the living room to rest or nap without waking up & my Mom telling me she thought I had a seizure & Iād tell her āNo I didnātā but of course technically, I donāt know for sure when Iām having one usually & so one time she used her phone & recorded me having a seizure on the couch. I started feeling like I couldnāt rest on the couch without having a seizure & so I donāt usually sleep on the couch anymore. Always be careful changing your meds of when your supposed to take them & let the doctor know. I hope things get better. Your in Texas, Becky
I'm pretty sure it would be due to rem sleep so in other words it doesn't happen when you are completely asleep it is either when you are about to fall asleep or wake up. either way, though REM sleep is the trigger. As for how you help to control it I'm not really sure.

My seizures always came when I was just about to fall asleep I donāt know maybe the change of activity in the brain has something to do with it?
Would make them try to take you off and go to Cbd and weed oils. I used mine and didn't have any issues until my dumbasses for doctors and family forced me onto these dumb pills that only make shit worse for people, especially when they don't know about their bodies and what those pills do to you. I'd rather live with my seizures, use my meditation to relax and help with my anxiety, and smoke and use my CBD for my epilepsy and brain trauma. Everything doctors tend to do just messes you up when it comes to the brain. Saw the shit they did to an ex of mine and she practically came out retarded. Took forever forever her to be able to talk normal again but she still was off putting and seemed really strange most of the time after that. One reason why I didn't trust my former specialist was cause all he did was mess me up with every single medication him or the lady there tried. My seizures basically went from 1-3 every 6-12+ months to 1-30+ every 2 weeks to 2 months. I just keep getting hurt cause they won't take me off and leave me alone and super sick of stupid ass lawyers who won't take a case cause they got no balls or they're just in the doctors pocket
