What If The Epileptiologist Finds Nothing In Tests?
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Sorry I did'nt see your other comment, yes generally is nothing comes up on the short eeg they will go for a longer test. Even if something does come up on the short one they my do a longer down the track to see wether they can learn more about the seizure patterns. This is what I did at the start of the year. I always have seizures come up on short tests and have still had to do two 3 day tests over the years.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Yes this is true. It is possible to have both. I'm kind of in a similar situation at the moment as I still get other seizures with an unknown cause. However I am diagnosed as having TLE epilepsy.
I just wonder since I get only a few seizures a month how is putting me on 30 min eeg going to show much? It didn't last time. I don't fall asleep for these or sleep studies even when sleep deprived...not sure it's the wires or what.
Not sure what answers you’re looking for, but you have a better chance , with an Epileptologist than a Neurologist.
I have had my condition for 51 years, I have had tests in the past by the docs etc I have not had one in awhile, but even if I was ordered to have it happen, and nothing shows up on the test, I know i have the condition I have, I have accepted that and are more stable than before and I'm ok with that in my life, my opinion.
