Every seizure I have is a blackout and I have approximately 3-4 a month. When I blackout I collapse having a convulsion that last about 1-2 min. Was told if convulsion last 5 min or more it can cause brain injury, more brain injury. or worst depending on what you're having seizure from. After my convulsions I usually am at where I had it not even knowing I had it. When I had them outside, I was usually sitting where I had it. There were times I woke up in ambulance or at hosp.. Was usually always back to full consciousness by either while in back of ambulance trying to tell them to let me go, with no success,😠lol Or at the hosp. ready to sign myself out no problem. Did have some more aggravating or scary but. Such as I had one a couple mths. woke up in ambulance not far from where I live they wouldn't let me out. I live about 1 mile easy to get home from hosp. Told them to take me there, but they wouldn't👿. Told them they have to get me home I had no clue how to get home from hosp. and nobody to call for ride from hosp. being taken to. After at hosp. and signed out. told them to get me home as ambulance said they would. They did get me an uber to drive me home. Now I been getting a bill from them to pay for ER visit and a 4 mile uber drive home. Whenever I see that bill it gets recycled. Don't see hosp. taking me to court for a few hundred dollars. A scary one was when I lived with a friend and went to pick up a pizza from a pizza shop not far away so only thing had on me was money for the pizza. Had a seizure on my way there. After coming back to full consciousness, I was missing for a few days in a hosp. in a suburbs that was about 1 hour where I lived. I got no clue how I got there. Did have someone to call, who been searching for me. If I didn't have someone to call from there, I'd probably getting bill a few thousand for distance, that still be getting recycled🤫. Only one physical injury which started as a fracture but increased to a full break, I had to have reconstructive surgery. Would have only been a fracture if I didn't ignore the pain thinking it was a sprain that lasted a over a week. If do have collapse black out seizures don't be ignorant to pain that developed, and you have no clue how may have happened. That was worst that happened to me, over 31 yrs. of black out seizures. Don't let them rule you what you can and can't do, you show them you're smart enough to find a shield to reflect that sudden shock away from happiness of living life 💭+💥=🥳🧠!!!

I have blackouts spells ,but they are very short . They last about a second or two. But, even going through those feels much longer.

Other than my blackouts, I don’t have trouble remembering. My stronger seizures one the other hand , I do forget what I was doing.

The fainting spells I've been having, that I'm wondering if they aren't seizures, I completely forgot everything that happened that day. It's like amnesia for the day.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, I've had about three of those and none of them were very fun but the very first time that it happened had me freaked out the most. I was actually driving home from a showing, rounding the curve on the HWY before my exit when suddenly I'm looking around wondering "uh WT_ am I???" At that point I had only live in Indy a couple of years and didn't have most of the area down so little did I know that I had only gone south off the exit instead of north, but either way it still wouldn't have made me feel that much better because I went all the way down the off ramp and at least a mile before I finally snapped out of it.
I then had another one when my wife and son were in the car with me and we were heading back from my mom's in KY. I can't remember if she noticed me or the road first but whatever it was she was able to grab the wheel and make sure that we stayed good until I came out of it again, and let me tell you that she was none to happy because I don't believe that I had ever told her about that other one a year or two prior.
Now my seizures are nocturnal but I do sometimes have these strange little blips during the day like this and déjà vu but it's been probably 5+ years since I've had a blackout and the déjà vu almost never seems big enough to really effect me anymore.
