The one bad thing about this drug is that it doesn't interact well with calcium or magnesium. A lot of anticonvulsant drugs are designed to increase GABA and block calcium channels within the brain. I also wouldn't recommend calcium or magnesium supplements while on the medication.

Goodness. AEDs are powerful drugs.
I am really happy you are all better now.

Would your doctor speak to the Neurologist about this? There may be an alternative to the Residronate. I was being treated for Breast Cancer years ago, but some AED I took made the chemo and Radiation Therapy now work. I began taking Onfi. It had to be purchased from Canada, because the FDA had not approved it yet.

Thank you so much for sending me the link Jake. It makes me feel better that you think my problem with risedronate
could be happening because of the changes caused by the risedronate in my system.
I must take the risedronate to try to protect my hips now. I already have several spinal fractures.
I am scared to start it again. I guess I just want a magic remedy to make it be ok.

Marilyn: The Risedronate can be affecting you, certainly. ANYTHING THAT CAUSES A CHANGE will be likely to cause a seizure, and a new medicine certainly qualifies for that. Here is a link for some greater detail about that medication and its effects:

Good luck. Regards, Jake
