He and I have known each other for 45 years. He was my mom’s doctor also.

I would say my doctor is a close friend. He's been my doctor for 25+ years. If he isn't too busy he takes time to chat with me about non medical things. I often tell him he probably knows me better than I know myself. I need to trust the person that's keeping my physical body well.

No, I have a closer relationship with my Neuro and it is perhaps because I see him more. My GP prescribes medication for my high blood pressure and a once-a-year exam.

I rarely have a need for seeing my primary care as I see specialty physicians for my health needs. He's a good guy though and do like his care that has been provided.
