Has Anyone Every Got A FT Job Where They Were Able To Work Up To The FT Hrs?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

The reason I ask is,
I applied for a job not really expecting to hear back but I did and now I have a interview. The company claims to be Neurodiverse and will make adjustments but what that means I'm not sure. What I'm hoping is they will do a gradual build up to FT if I get it.

My seizures, followed by depression, ADHD, PTSD and alcoholism for soooo many years I could barely survive let alone work. As I worked on my alcoholism and depression I began community college, never believing I would succeed, but was desperate to have a life outside of chaos, tragedy and trauma. Seven years later I had a Master’s degree and still never worked but had completed internships and practicums, but still had never really worked. Six years into college I became clean and sober and less than a year after that I was seizure free after many severe seizures for 34 years. I got my first real job at age 36. I remember being terrified because I was now a professional with a Masters degree and terrified the seizures would return and I’d lose my job. It’s still in the back of my head and concerns me after a 25 year career. I bused it in freezing cold Pittsburgh for 8 years before getting my first drivers license at age 44. Like all the diagnoses mentioned, they can always return so I will always be someone with epilepsy, alcoholism and mental illness. Treating it that way and learning to live a healthy lifestyle has not only prevented relapse but has enabled me to go from barely surviving to thriving. Wish all of you the best even if for now it’s improving from 12 seizures a day to several a week. I know, that was me.💪

Sorry for the long answer.
In short, I let my team know & out of concern, find out what issues they may have. My teams & people overall work best, are happier, & stay around if they TRUST those they work with. It works both ways so it has to start from 1, which is usually me.
This is also true outside work

I was able to work full time hours. I did have seizures at work and I was always able to take a day off. Good luck and be strong.

I& my teams design(ed)& managed IT systems, & I've had seizures at multiple jobs. 1 at Purina, I went down for long enough for the EMT'S to show up, the 1st at the medical center, & a 3rd in 2016. But everyone the people & called to see how I was, but never an issue. I also worked for a company on the EFMK's list of 1's not to work for in 1998 & I had no issues whatsoever.
It wasn't until my last 3 positions since 2018. Each of those I was terminated or my contract cut short for bogus reasons after I either had a seizure or they found out I had epilepsy.
I miss working FT.
I know God will provide but it sucks in the meantime.
