What Are The Chances Of Applying Being Granted Ssi Benefits While Suffering From Epilepsy?

Sad to say, I was turned down on 3 appeals and had to secure a disability attorney, and I eventually got phone hearing with a judge. I didn't win the disability case because of epilepsy, I got it because of my diagnosis of complex PTSD from child abuse, and 9 years working in a major Detroit Emergency Trauma Center as a respiratory therapist often tending to combat-level injuries, bad things to see and never forget.

I can't understand their reasoning. I've been a toolmaker/maintenance machinist by trade for 28 years. There's no way any employer would allow me to work with, or even around, man-eating industrial machinery, for liability and safety issues alone. My neuropsychologist, who I'd been seeing since my diagnosis at age 62, submitted my inch-thick pile of her records, and that seemed to be the deciding factor for the approval of disability, but the entire process took nearly four years. Weird.

Depending on how bad your epilepsy is and how severe your seizures are, you will 100% get approved..it took me 4 years but I dinally got supplemental security income and was granted 100% medically needy..

I got epilepsy back in 2016 and I applied for disability in 2017, after getting an attorney, I was finally approved for Supplemental Security Income but it rook my attorney years to get me approved..my seizures are so bad that I am considered 100% disabled...so it's definitely worth a try applying...

I have a case pending now this my third attempt..but I have hired an attorney I went to therapy about it recently including the doctor social security sent me too..due to the fact that I was able to walk and talk by myself I was denied now my lawyers are appealing the case now..what makes me nervous is what the therapist said after the interview.she stated to me on a personal level that the seizures have affected my life mentally because they came out of nowhere at the age of 32 it messed up my memory, caused stressed, and put fear on me.. and I told her that I was ready to get back out there and move forward in my life..she stated that I can appear to be healthy but she noticed how I responded each time she had me speak of affects..and I told her I have gotten better..and she stated the most honest answer I have ever heard..she said be careful because a lot of people have set backs even on medication because it’s a mental illness it affects your brain which controls your body and certain memories of the past while I was having them back to back can come out of nowhere that’s where the symptoms of reliving certain situations that hasn’t happened before come in..certain moments kicks in the brain which can cause fear, anxiety, stress and depression back in your brain which can trigger a seizure that’s why it’s considered an disorder that is hard to cure without brain itself being untouched or more medication..and she said be careful because the seizures can come back much stronger
