At first no, I had no idea what I had, but I am going to say it took me some time, I over the years and the test and meds and a couple docs, I I came to accept the condition of epilepsy about I'd say my mid 30s fully, It wasn't easy for me but I am not one that gives up, I felt like that at times but, I won't do that, I am not that kind of person that will, I also do my daily routine of prayer and bible study, that is my best medicine for me ever without a shadow of a doubt, I am a Catholic… read more

After 50-odd years of this It just something to deal with like a bad haircut. Except it doesn't grow out. This is your life. It is only a disease. Face or wimp out and cry. It can be a daily challenge just be smart do things the smart way and set your routines so you don't have seizures !! ericthom3

I go back and forth. I have FMLA paperwork so I can attend doctors appointments or stay home if I do have a breakthrough seizure and not be penalized or fired. But I broke down emotionally when I read the answer to the question “length of condition “ and my neurologist put lifetime. It hit me hard even though I know it will be something I will have forever. Weird what hits hard lol

Accepted. Every day is different and I work to enjoy it. When a seizure happens I recover from it and continue with my life.

I believe my thoughts and experiences with having epilepsy are different then many others. I say that because I see epilepsy as a problem sometimes same as many other things can be. When I 1st came down with Epilepsy,at 15 yrs.old, I did go thru severe depression. When I was about 23 yrs old, I started as just another problem just harder to take care of, it could be a lot worse. I say that because of a school I went to for disabled, and volunteer jobs I did and the condition of others right around the same age as me also younger and older were much worse. Also, I was living on my own doing almost the same as everyone else, with help sometimes the same as everyone in the world needs. Also very odd my start of Epilepsy may have been life threatening. Now Epilepsy and has been life saving embarrassing me away from a gang of friends most turned to have drug problems, in jail, or dead now. I may have been in that group if not for Epilepsy. Also, having a lobectomy,, I needed when 1st diagnosed Epileptic, saved my life again after being hit by a car 17 yrs. later. Putting me in a coma with bleeding of the brain. bout 17 yrs. later saved my life again. Now I don't worry much because this made me believe that sometimes that bad can be good. Wish everyone the best TAKE CARE🤩
