Hi. I Have Had A TIA. Has Anyone Else Had A TIA?

I am due to have some scans. Been prescribed 75mg aspirin per day.
I have had an irregular heartbeat since a few months after starting lacosamide.
Lacosamide is great though.
I have asked my neurologist if the aspirin will affect the concentration of my tablets in my blood.
I am waiting for him to get back to me obviously but I wondered if anyone else has had a TIA and knows the answer to that question?

My epileptologist thinks I have been having TIAs since about 11 years old. But related to my brain not my heart. I would have intermittent total weakness in the right side of my body. Probably related to the AVM growing. I’m glad I don’t have them anymore.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, i have had a TIA last year in July. It is immediate response for doctors to prescribe aspirin after an attack. Aspirin should not affect your meds. But everyone is different. So, testing is needed to see if Lacosamide will work with the heart meds you are going to be taking. Testing results may show you need to take Lamictal instead of Lacosamide, or another seizure medication. It may show Lacosamide is just fine. It depends on how things are with your body after the TIA.

No, I had irregular heart beat while hospitalized and heart surgery to to correct it. While considering epilepsy surgery. Ericthom3 Best of Luck
