I at first didn't know what I had,but over the years and medical treatment and tests, meds docs etc, I think in my opinion that they are more 2 nd nature if anything to me, I know that they still happen time to time but not like before and are more stable than before and I am ok with that in my life with, I think I'm improving with my condition and with my doc, she was was a good doc and person that I thought actually cared about the people she treated, my seizures are more stable and still… read more

I have accepted my condition but I'll never be ok with it. I have accepted the way I have to live as a "new normal" but I'm not ok with it. My true normal is being adventurous; travelling, exploring new and historical places, spending days at the beach, camping, etc, etc, etc. I keep a positive attitude and enjoy my life the best I can.

Good morning Jeffrey, yes I knew of that @ 1 of the Epilepsy groups. Unfortunately located in another town. Plus at my age (not saying I'm that old, Lol), can't handle sleeping in tent any longer, but when did had a blast.

Hi lori and Ed4, Sounds as if you two like to go camping, If I'm correct did you know the epilepsy foundation has occasional times to do things such as going camping with a group of other epileptics for a weekend free of charge. If you need transportation to get where they're meeting up they would supply that too.

When I 1st came down with it I had went thru a few years of severe depression. After that I adapted to it no problem. Actually happy I came down with it and needed a lobectomy. I say that because kids I hung with when I was a group of bad ass kids and epilepsy embarrassed me and I left. Most of them are now living life, if alive, a life of hell. If not for epilepsy I may be there too. Also, 25yrs. after my lobectomy I was hit by a car, putting me in a coma with bleeding of the brain. I was told if I didn't have that lobectomy the blood would've put so much pressure on the brain I would be in a coma for life. The lobectomy gave an area to drain and deny that pressure. I think this proves, unlike they say algebra isn't ever used in life and it is- rule two negative equal a positive can be used like this ( -epilepsy times - needed surgery = +LIFE) 🦸🏿‍♂️
